Transition year students  had the opportunity to take on the role of Forensic Scientists on November 25th.   As part of the workshop, they undertook a crime investigation and had to complete a forensic work sheet:  information was recorded at each stage – ballistics, DNA, blood, autopsy, fingerprints and trace, with a view to solving the crime. Crime solved, they now had to turn their attention to motive. There was also an opportunity for students to act out the scene of the crime. For those interested in investigating forensic science as a career it was very interesting to receive information on what is involved in the job and also possible courses.
