IMG_2514SciFest is a series of one-day science fairs for second-level students hosted locally in schools and at regional level in the Institutes of Technology. The aim of the project is to encourage a love of science, technology and maths through active, collaborative, inquiry-based learning and to provide a forum for students at local, regional and national level to present and display their scientific investigations.

Four T.Y. teams from F.C.J. Bunclody took part in the SciFest at Carlow Institute of Technology and we’re delighted to announce that Aimee Cuddihy & Rebecca Dempsey won the SEAI Energy Award (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland) for their project on “People’s Attitude Towards Electricity“.   Part of their research was conducted through an on-line survey on this web site.   Well done to all the teams who took part and to their mentor, Ms. Catherine Doyle.
