Promoting positive mental health is high on the agenda in our school, with both students and staff completely committed to spreading awareness and highlighting the importance of taking care of our mental health.

This year a committee of dedicated staff and students are working hard to be recognised as an “Ambassador School” for the Cycle Against Suicide. As a school we are privileged to be part of such a vibrant and worthwhile campaign and our entire school community is enthusiastically behind our endeavours. The theme of this year’s cycle is “Together We Can” and this committee has been living proof of the power of that tag-line as they carefully planned and organised a very special event.

Students and staff of FCJ Secondary School were afforded the unique opportunity to attend a special event hosted in
The Church of the Most Holy Trinity, Bunclody on Thursday 21st January at 12 o’ clock.  The event was high energy with our student band “Tae Junction” performing on the day and our guest speakers; Mr. Jim Breen, Founder of Cycle Against Suicide, Mr. Joe Dixon, Local Area Co-ordinator and Miss Hannah Tyrell, International rugby player all encouraging our students to appreciate their mental health.

This special event was tailored exclusively to our young people at FCJ and we are delighted to showcase and celebrate some of the fabulous projects and work designed and created by our students while simultaneously spreading the message:
