The theme of the CAS (Cycle Against Suicide) Cycle this year is “Share the Journey”.    All students were asked to share their journey by documenting  (1) One thing that they are proud of (2) One thing they like doing (3) Their ambitions for the future.      The life stages of the butterfly represent this journey and the individual information is posted in each stage: 1st years cut out shapes of eggs and laid them on the large leaves with their information; 2nd and 3rd years cut out shapes of caterpillars and all their information; 4th years created the Larvae and 5th & 6th years are represented by the beautiful Butterflies.

A big thank you to the Cycle Against Suicide committee but especially to Mr. Daithi Flynn and all the students who helped out in creating our butterfly journey in the 3rd and 5th year area.

This beautiful butterfly display represents all our individuality, achievements and hopes and dreams for the future. Everyone takes every step in a very unique way. This journey may take you down by great storms or bumpy roads but it doesn’t matter, what matters the most is how many times you stand up and continue on. Each moment on the journey of life you are presented with an opportunity to react differently. You may even make the same choices over and over again because you do not know how to choose differently but always remember that you have the power to change things. Life is a journey with so many options, a world to discover, dreams to chase, goals to reach and people to meet. There will be times you not know what you want, who you want or where you want to go. In these moments always remember you are not alone and to share the journey. Remember our tag line “It’s ok not to feel ok and it is absolutely ok to ask for help.
