Well done to our Transition Year team who won the Senior Energy Award at the National Finals of the Eco-UNESCO Awards held in the Round Room of the Mansion House, Dublin, on May 22nd.   The aim of their project was to make people in the local area more aware of the benefits of Wind Turbines in generating energy.   They achieved this by surveying people in the community, handing out information flyers, hosting an Awareness Talk and holding a public walk to Ballycadden Wind Farm.

The Leader of the Labour Party, Mr.Brendan Howlin, T.D., visited their stall to congratulate them and later in the day they were met at Leinster House by Mr. Paul Kehoe, T.D., Minister of State at the Departme nts of the Taoiseach and Defence, who brought them on a tour of the house including spending time in the Chamber while the Dail was in progress.

Well done to all concerned and their teacher, Ms. Catherine Doyle.
