Or as we say here in Wexford - There's few quare good waves out there, lad🌊🏄 Whatever way you want to put it the TYs had a great time in Curracloe today getting to grips with the water sport🏝 It's fair to say, it's much harder than it looks!😅 This is the Transition Year students first trip of the year, and it was a great one!👏
When everyone pulls together, great things happen!💪🌟A huge thank you to Jon Bennett of Bennett Tarmacadam Ltd for generously sponsoring a fantastic range of materials for our Sensory Garden. Your support is helping us bring this very special project another big step closer to life🧱⛏️🛣 It was all hands on deck - even Mr Daly had the gloves on!🧤 There was plenty of hard work, and of course, lots of laughs along the way!🤣 A massive thank you to everyone who helped out, with a very special mention to our four fantastic 6th Year students who rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in!👏Also, we were delighted to receive two gorgeous wooden benches, very generously sponsored by Kiltealy Wood Hub for our Sensory Garden🌳🪵 A huge thank you to Elaine Neville and Jim Kirwan for delivering the benches to the school. Our 6th Year Geography students conducted their coastal field study today in Rosslare!🏝🌊🌦️🔎📝 Mercifully the Sunny South East lived up to its name, with the clouds clearing and rain stopping shortly after we arrived, which meant we could get straight down to business🤔✏ The students did a great job collecting their results which play a key role in the Geography project which is worth 20% of the overall grade✅ Afterwards there was time for a swim and even a bit of football🏊⚽️ Sure you know what they say about all work and no play!😁#leavingcertgeography #projectwork
Best of luck to these three ladies; Nicole O’Leary, Clara Doran and Effie Mae Cousins, as they travel to Italy tomorrow to dance in the Romagna Festival🇮🇹✈ The girls are well established Irish dancers and are part of Scoil Rince Furlong💃🇮🇪 They have had good form over the summer as Nicole secured 1st place at the All Ireland U15 Championship, while Effie Mae placed 2nd place in her U15 Pre-Open Championship and Clara also came 2nd in her U14 Pre-Open Championship🏆🏅 Well done, girls!👏
To the rescue!🚨 Over the past two days TYs have been engaging in water safety!🌊 Not only can they solve the most difficult quadratic equations or cook up a storm in the Home Ec room, Mr Dooley and Ms Johnston have been teaching the transition year students life saving swimming techniques!🛟💧We're a coastal county with lovely beaches and we have plenty of rivers around us. And yes it's great to go for a swim of course, just make sure you are safe and respect the water at all times🏝 Thankfully the TYs are now well equipped to do#watersafetya#lifebouy #lifebouy
This weekend, 2nd Year student, Paddy Byrne, will travel to New York in the USA to compete in the World Wallball Championships!🏐🖐️🇮🇪🇺🇸🗽Paddy is a hugely decorated handballer, having won at COUNTY, LEINSTER and NATIONAL level, so here's hoping he can make the world title now over the next few weeks!🌍 Currently he has so many trophies, he had to draft in Mr Daly to give him a hand holding them for the photo!🏆😁 The best of luck, Paddy, everyone here will be cheering you on#wexfordgaar#handballd#GAA #martymorrisseyi#worldchampionshipn#wallballlball
This year's TY students had a ball at their induction day on Tuesday🥳 They took part in a number of ice breaking activities which added greatly to the bonding experience (Some got much wetter than they anticipated😅🌊)What a great year these students have in front of them. From the musical, to tours, workshops, speakers and extra curricular events. Students, make sure to make the most of it!🎶🎭🚌📚🗣⚽
Past FCJ teacher, Rory Kinsella, dropped into school the other day with a surprise cheque in aid of our sensory garden!💲🪻🌹🌺🌼 This was kindly given by Bunclody Kilmyshall Drama Group🎭👏Ms Ciara Kenny was delighted to accept the money on our behalf. Here are a few students from our outgoing 6th Year cohort that received a mammoth 5 or more H1s!💯📝🎉 A huge well done to them! They are; Izabella Swiatek, Liam Cooney, John Murphy, Jamie Cunniffe and Aaron Cunniffe (Who are twins by the way!) Missing from this picture is Evan Sweeney. Izabella has been accepted into Radiography in UCD, Jamie into Primary Teaching in DCU, while Liam, John and Aaron will have each other for company as the trio are destined for Engineering in UCD👨🎓📚🩻👨🏫🛠As we always say here in FCJ, at the end of the day, you won’t be remembered for the score on a piece of paper, it’s the type of person that you are that counts🙋 Everybody has a different goal, no matter what it is, the important thing is that you set that target and then give it your all to get there💪 It’s echoed around the corridors - Do your best, sure that’s all that you can do!😁Another statistic that we are very proud of here is that almost half of our students received 400 points or more, while almost 25% obtained a massive 500 points or more, with 2 students securing the maximum points of 625!🚸🏫✅🤩#welldone #topresults #hardworkbeatslazytalent
